MyTradingEdge · Trading journal
A trading journalthat works before the trade
Turn your strategy rules into a checklist, run through it before entry, and compare the setup score with what happened next.
Over time the journal builds up a history of your decisions: which conditions you followed, what you traded and which situations you skipped.

01 / Your rules
Build a checklist for your strategy
Which conditions have to line up before you consider an entry? What is mandatory for you, and what only strengthens the situation?
In MyTradingEdge you define the criteria, the answer options and their weights. The result is a checklist you can return to with every new analysis.
Start with one strategy you already use.
02 / Before entry
Go through your conditions before entry
Choose a strategy and an asset, then answer the questions on your checklist.
This records which conditions you saw at the moment of analysis. After the trade is finished you can return to the entry and compare the original score with the result.
The setup score shows how well the situation matches your criteria. It is not the probability of a profitable trade.
The setup got an A+. How did it play out?
A high score means the situation matched your checklist well. The next question is how such situations end in your own trading.
Compare results by score, strategy and asset. As trades accumulate, you can check whether the criteria you chose are linked to better results.
A small sample is a reason to observe. Reliable conclusions need more data.
03 / Opened and skipped
Look at the trades you skipped, too
Sometimes skipping saves you from a loss. Sometimes you ignore a situation that matched your rules.
Record such cases and their later result. Then you can compare what you traded with what you passed on.
Does your selection help the result, or are some suitable situations being left behind?
04 / The big picture
Where to begin reviewing your trading
As the number of entries grows, it matters to understand what is happening with your system now and which decisions deserve a second look.
Action Center gathers journal data into a working summary: system state, risk regime, sources of edge, possible execution problems and confidence in the statistics.
The summary helps you choose what to check next: current risk, the results of a single strategy, the quality of your setup selection, or a losing streak compared with the system’s history.
Your trade history becomes context for the next decision.

When there is enough data
A profitable history still leaves questions: how stable the result is, what it rests on and what has changed in recent trades. In MyTradingEdge you can look into them in more detail.
How certain is the estimate of your edge?
Bootstrap and the range of the expectancy estimate help you see the uncertainty of the result on the sample you have.
Which streaks and drawdowns are possible?
Monte Carlo models possible sequences of results based on your recorded history and the assumptions of the calculation.
Does the whole result depend on just a few trades?
Fragility and concentration analysis shows how much the outcome depends on individual lucky results.
What has changed in your recent trades?
Comparing the last 20, 50 and 100 trades with the overall history helps you notice a decline in performance metrics.
How does risk relate to your journal data?
Kelly estimates, the buffer to your chosen acceptable drawdown and the risk regime give you reference points for reviewing the current load on your account.
You don't have to study all of these metrics from day one. You can come back to them as your history grows and specific questions come up.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do I need my own strategy?
To use the checklist you need conditions by which you evaluate a situation. You can start with one familiar setup and refine its criteria gradually.
Do I have to trade the EDGE method?
No. You set your own criteria and their weights. MyTradingEdge can be used to keep a journal for your own trading approach.
What does the setup score mean?
It shows how closely the situation matches the configured criteria, taking their weights into account. You can then compare the results of trades with different scores in the journal. The score itself is not a probability of profit.
Why record skipped situations?
To study how your selection affects the result. If you save the conditions and the later outcome of skipped situations, you can compare them with the ones you traded.
Can I start without accumulated statistics?
Yes. First you can set up the checklist and keep records. Conclusions from the results become more meaningful as data accumulates.
Is MyTradingEdge a free trading journal?
Yes. MyTradingEdge is currently free.
Does MyTradingEdge give trading signals?
No. You analyze the market by your own rules. MyTradingEdge helps you check the conditions consistently, save the decision and then compare it with the results in the journal.
How are the checklist and trade statistics connected?
Before entry you record the conditions and the score for the situation. After the trade you add the result. As entries accumulate you can compare strategies and setup scores, take skipped situations into account and use the conclusions in your next decisions.
